SYDNEY, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- A drive-by shooting injured a man in the Australian state of Victoria on Sunday evening, local police reported on Monday.

Victoria Police said in a statement that a 50-year-old man was shot at outside his property on Fourth Avenue in Altona North, a suburb in Melbourne's southwest, at around 7:30 p.m. local time on Sunday.

According to police, the man took himself to the hospital later that evening with non-life-threatening injuries.

A burnt-out Mitsubishi Pajero was located by investigators on Gill Street in Reservoir, about a 35-minute drive from the injured man's house, at around 8:20 p.m. local time last night, which is believed to have links to the incident.
